This is an unbeatable combination for making children appreciate family sport and recreation. The patient father and sympathetic, understanding mother. Family recreation, under wise guidance, teaches young- sters how to give and take gracefully, through its iudicious use, parents can show children how fundamental vir- tues like charity and justice carry over from sport to every day living. Bill Ormsby's parents have tried to main- tain this proper balance by being parents who are never too tired to give a little encouraging advice, never too busy to lend an appreciative eye or ear to some goings-on. 1 i l 97 l

In spite of limited funds Father was able to equip and field teams in all sports. He secured the services of qualified Phys. Ed. in- structors and coaches of proven ability. Mendel's intramural program as well as its varsity teams catapulted us into prominence almost overnight. The Catholic League recognized Father Nash's talents and voted him its presi- dent in 1955. Father Gavin fFr. Nash's successorj along with Coaches Novak, Magee and Reilly, reflect the youthful ardor and eager anticipation so characteristic of Father Nash. We hope that in them and their program he will soon see his fondest hopes materialize-THE MONARCHS, KINGS OF SPORTS!
