THF SANDSTORM Ameleen Fortu three her attractneness among the boys Dulcres mterest are based on a certam red head from the yumor class Her ambmon rs to be a teacher and ln the future we shall hnd Dulcre teachrng school somewhere rn the wclmty of Chamrsal for she could not do without her red head El Prado New Mexico sent us a dancer rn the form of Emma 'Vlartrnez She wanted to make her professron dancing rn a tour around the world Therefore she started south wrth the rntentron of reachrng South Amerrca Instead as she was gomg through Albuquerque she stopped to see her brother Eh who consmced her that she should park at lVlenaul Emma has developed physrcally as well as mentally Her :deals are strll centered on the lure of the troprcs of South Amerrca Emma rs our class s best gurl athlete and she rs well liked by everyone The rest of her character rstrcs are pomted toward what seem to be her desxres She ns always found dorng something to pass time cuttlng paper and cartoons coloring scrap books or studying Her ambrtlon rs to become a home economlcs teacher but no accordmg to sta trstrcs rn I953 we shall frnd Emma dancmg the South Amencan way rn the moon lrght Cresencro Montoya was mrstaken for a pumpkm from La Cueva New Mexico and was shipped to us among the pumpkins that were being sent to lVlenaul Cresencro popped 1nto vrew and demanded a place ln which to stay He rs a hard workmg student who has done much toward helpmg the class keep rts good standards Hrs name IS often seen on the honor roll He IS now the other honorable author of the class hrstory Up to this trme Cresenclo never has had anything to do with glrls he never even thought of one But now he rs often lured to Old Brrck by the laughter of a certam yumor gurl Cresenclo s ambrtron rs to be of service to humanity The crystal ball of l953 re veals hrm as a Salvatron Army man The year l94l was generous and gave to our class three more lndlvlduals ln David Dommgues Ruth Rodrrguez and Eutlmro Medrna Davld Dommgues from Brrghton Colorado rs the mowe star of the class for he makes Robert Taylor and Tyrone Power look to their laurels David gets the girls vote for one of the best looking and frrendllest boys on the campus Hrs ambntron rs to Jom the navy and see the world but Instead we see that by 1953 David has replaced Mickey Rooney as a sensational actor on the screen Chama New Mexrco really sent us a studrous person rn Ruth Rodrrguez Ruth rs one of the few persons who are rarely seen among the group One can always flnd her rn her room for she rs always studying and doesnt care for extra actrvrtles outside her studxes She rs very friendly to all Her ambrtlon IS to be a Red Cross nurse ln the near future we find Ruth as a farthful public nurse among the people of Chama Eutrmro Medrna el muchacho alegre was contrrbuted by Carcra Colorado Trm thought that the people of New Mexico needed somebody to pep them up and thought that Menaul would be the best place to make hrs headquarters Therefore he boarded a traln and unloaded at Menaul Fl Muchacho Alegre hts htm just rrght for he 1 always chltter chattering everywhere getting a laugh even out of a stone He rs Inter ested ln rellgron and IS an actlve member of the Gospel Team Hrs ambltxon IS to help others ln the future we fmd Trm dorng some kind of work for charrty Durmg the Christmas vacation of l94l uha Dommgues was convrnced by her brother Davrd that she should accompany hrm to the sunny clty of Albuquerque Wlren her brother told her that shed acquire the charm of the Land of Enchantment she Immediately packed her hugh heels put on her hrgh at and sand Hr ho to her folk as she came to Menaul to yorn our class the second semester julla has a frrendls d s posrtlon and she rs a good singer She ls one of the members of the famous semor fl' , 4 -2 - as Y ,Eg ig.
