THE SANDSTORM IVIENAUL SCHOOL RABBIT COOPERATIVE ASSOCIATION The lVlenaul School Rabbit Cooperative Association which was started in IQ39 now consists of forty eight stockholders The Assocntion has a Board of Directors from which officers are chosen Shares are sold at 7Jc each and IBB shares of stoclt have been sold The Association has been doing well on the wholt ind has paid most of its debts hundred Dressed rabbits are sold to private homes to two of the hospitals and occasionally to restaurants Some of the rabbits are sold to the school for use in the dining room The pelts are sold by weight to a firm in California All members feel that this project is worthwhile It not only shows that some profit can be made by investing but it also shows that rabbits can be raised without much trouble Students who own shares consider it an interesting activity STUDENT COOPERATIVE STORE The Cooperative Store was organized by the students of Menaul School in the fall of l938 This store is carried on as an educational project and besides there is good profit earned by the members The store gives us a knowledge of how to run such a store Shares were sold at ten cents each with a maximum of five shares to a member This year there are twenty members The supplies are bought at wholesale price and are sold at regular price to members as well as to other students The profit macle by the members usually is two cents refund on every five cent purchase and two cents interest on every share The school supplies consist of notebooks notebook paper pencils envelopes soap etc The store has a Board of Directors composed of three students who must be members of the store They ire elected by the members lVI1ss 'Vloody ofhce secretary acts as manager of the store Before the Christmas vacation and at the close of school the profit is divided among the members in proportion to the number of shares purchased and the amount of purchases made At the end of the year the money invested in shares is refunded -.,-,. s,,. s, , Echoes, S- .,s. ,.....i......-,-E...w H- -FA- A-Y-.. .- I A-M24 A NWA- A W- 1 1 The number of rabbits which the Association now has on hand is over one l n Page Tllllllj Nine
