el lj E.s,,5,f:-N D 5 TSQBIM g g1g 9 SCHOLARSHIP The word scholarship means much to an ambntrous Menaul student and somethmg that I5 acquired only by hard work A student should arm to make the best use of hrs abllrty ln his studres and also rn deportment throughout the year At the end of every sux weeks the average grade of each class as a whole rs determined and the class havmg the hlghest average during that slx weeks rs awarded a Scholarshrp Banner To be on the sux weeks honor roll a student must have an average of B rn has class work For the semester one must have a B average m both class work and deportment A student rs only allowed to take five subjects The only way to be on the honor roll every sux weeks rs by Iearmng the proper way to study and then keeping up with the assrgnments every day At the close of the school year a scholarshrp banquet rs grven to honor all students who have kept therr B averages throughout the year Each honored student rs presented wrth an Old English style IVI Cougratulatrons Honored Students SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Social actrvltres at Menaul have been regarded as a source of much fun and recreatron Every one enters Into them as rf we were one bug happy famrly Brrck enjoymg themselves very much In the fall the boys carry out the custom of holding a pow wow on the mesa They sxng songs play games and have plenty to eat The gurls also have a prcnrc that evenmg and have a good time Thus year we drd not have Stunt Nrght for Hallowe en but we held a carmval at the gymnasrum The semors sold candy pop nce cream and hot dogs The other classes presented dnfferent srde shows such as the fat lady the than man and the fun house The Chrrstxan Endeavor Socletres entertann twnce a year One event rs .I banquet and the other rs a pxcmc supper Mr and Mrs Donaldson give the senior class a costume party every year and the best and most orrgrnal costumes are awarded prrzes Movies are given once a month on Saturday mght These are enjoyed lmmensely espeerally Our Gang comedies Last fall the students went to the thrrd annual stale fair held here rn Albu querque Every one had a lot uf fun and lt rs also a source of educatron Page Tlnrty sax I l C.
