SENIOR GIRLS BASKETBALL The gxrls basketball team completed a very successful season wmnxng 20 games out of 28 The glrls partlcxpated m three tournaments the D1 tnct Tournament the Glllham lnvrtatronal Tournament and the Polk County Tournament Thirteen girls went to Charleston to the dlstrlct tournament They drd very well playmg their flrst game with Havana and won this wlth no trouble playmg the second team the last half The second game was with Mt Ida which gave them stuff competltlon Mt lda got the best of them but the game was fast and showed good handling of the ball By losmg thrs game they were ellmrnated from the drstrlct meet sxx medals The trophy was won by defealmg Board Camp ln the fmals The following girls won medals for bemg placed on All Tournament teams Pansy Mcl..elland ean McKinnon Oma ean Davls Clarlne Crawford and Mary Kate Srmpson The basketball glrls and boys were honored wrth a banquet at the close of the season Left to right Patsy Bryant Pamela McLelland Blllye Craig Clarene Craw ford Margaret Harns Blllye June Faulkner Kate Slmpson Elleen Ryan Oma ean Davis Artie Mae Bates Patty Hensley ean McKinnon Q, A I O f , During this season, the Bearkittens won the Polk County Trophy, and : ' J .
