2ft The Past The remodeled entrance to the Administration Building, which was constructed in 1912. is a completed phase of the Memphis State expansion program for the ' 60 ' s. The Air Force Reserve Officers Training Center was demolished in order to make room for Jones Hall. The AFROTC is now housed in the basement of the new building. Remember the circle in the foreground? Demand of more space for athletic events led to the construction of a new field house behind the old one. Part of it can be seen in the rear. The old gym was converted into WKNO educational television station. 19

The Future . . . Familiar to all MSU students are these construction scenes. The vast expansion program now underway has this year seen the completion of a new men and women ' s dormitory and a husiness administration building, but these are only a beginning for the progress in store for a university destined to become even greater. 21
