McTIGHE, president Tiger Club Three alumni organizations play a vital role in the development and promotion of Memphis State University. These groups are: the Tiger Club, Greater Memphis State and the Alumni Association. The Tiger Club is composed of sports-minded men who help sponsor sports at Memphis State. The club buys sweaters, athletic equipment and trophies for the athletic teams. Tiger Club membership is open to anyone interested in MSU athletics. Greater Memphis State is composed of nearly 500 Memphis business and professional people who help promote university advancement. CMS assists in academic and athletic schol- arships plus helping support the Shakespeare Festival and the Festival of Arts. The group is advocating an enlarged curriculum and expanded plant facilities. The Alumni Association, with a membership of more than 5,000, has an Advisory Council composed of representatives from the 21 West Tennessee counties. Alumni receive The Col- umns, an alumni publication, three times a year which helps keep MSU graduates alert to university activities. The Alumni Association works closely with Greater Memphis State in planning university growth. 30
