The 1977-78 Junior Varsity Football Team enjoyed mod erate suc- cess winning five games and losing three games. The three losses came from Port Huron Central, Richmond, and Yale. The league wins were against Capac, Almont, Armada, Dryden, and Brown City. Approximately twenty eighth graders will be joining the Junior Varsity Football Team this coming year. The coaching staff is looking forward to another successful year. 81

This years football team was an outstanding combination of leadership, hard work, and determination. We established a school record for wins (7) and provided our fans with enough excitment to last a lifetime. Several players on our team achieved individual goals and received a great deal of noteriety, but it was the sum total of a team effort that made for our success throughout the season. My specific congratulations go to our ten seniors who are fine leaders and inspired us to do great things. There may never be a more exciting (depressing) ending to a championship ballgame than our overtime game with Almont. Our team played superbly in shutting out for 4 quarters. Our young men know what it is to work hard and then be rewarded for that input. We are looking forward to a great deal of success in our football program for many years to come. Discipline, Hark work, Determination and Leadership are the reasons our program has been successful. Many thanks go out to all the people who have worked so hard with our football team.
