The class of 1977-78 has a great deal to be proud of, especially the desire of and example of its leaders. Everyone of the ten senior mem- bers of our football team made a valuable contribution to the most suc- cessful year ( 7 wins) in Memphis Football History. This years football team was an outstanding combination of leadership, hard work, and determination. We established a school record for wins (7) and provided our fans with enough excitment to last a lifetime. Several players on our team achieved individual goals and received a great deal of noteriety, but it was the sum total of a team effort that made for our success throughout the season. My specific congratulations go to our ten seniors who are fine leaders and inspired us to do great things. There may never be a more exciting (depressing) ending to a championship ballgame than our overtime game with Almont. Our team played superbly in shutting out for 4 quarters. Our young men know what it is to work hard and then be rewarded for that input. We are looking forward to a great deal of success in our football program for many years to come. Discipline, Hark work, Determination and Leadership are the reasons our program has been successful. Many thanks go out to all the people who have worked so hard with our football team.
