Our Foreign Guest Left to Right: Christiane Stolly, Carlos Solis, and Jeanne Laure Novis. We were honored to have three foreign exchange students share with us, the student life at Memphis High School. Two of them were able to spend the whole year with us. Christiane Stolley came to us from Hamburg, West Germany. Christiane arrived August 29, to stay with the Mr. Richard Mentz family. Carlos Solis came to us from Puerto Montt, Chile, Carlos arrived January 23, to stay with the Mr. Clifford Kiehler family, Unlike Christiane and Jeanne Laure, Carlos will not be staying for graduation, but leaving March 17. Jeanne Laure Novis came to us from Paris, France. Jeanne Laure arrived August 1 7, to stay with the Rev. Duane Miller family. Christiane and Jeanne Laure participated in the Youth for Understanding program; while Carlos came to us be Open Door. Youth for Understanding and Open Door hope to widen the student perspective on life in America and exchange student respective views on their countries. This has been an experience for all of us.
