Atter a ragged pertormance against Treadwell in the opener, underdog Central registered an impressive 34-I9 victory over highly touted Clarlcsdale. With two victories under their belts, the now smooth machine moved to Chattanooga to administer a 6-0 deteat to favored City High. The victorious Warriors returned to score their tirst win in three years over Humes. Powertul M.B.A. ot Nashville, halted the Warriors' winning strealc at tour, holding EAT Hearty, Boys, lt's the Last Meal Before the Game. 'ikx V6 them to a I2-up tie. Atter turning in an unimpressive 2l-6 victory over Catholic High, the tast-slipping Warriors bowed to arch-enemy Tech 34-IZ. Recovering tremendously in a weelr, the team held favored South Side to a 7-7 tie. Showing much ot their early-season polish Cen- tral wound up the regular season with a great 7-O victory over powertul, triclcy Messick and went on to drop a close 2l-20 decision to Grove High, Paris, in the post-season Exchange Bowl clash at Jackson, Tennessee.
