U S S THUNDERBGLT We the Class of 1960 stand at last at the gateway to the sea of life As the portals gently swung open let us take a moment to remmisce Our school years have swept us up into the river of education from every possible background A variety of interests abilities and :deals have been dxsplayed along the way Now we are about to embark on long voyage into the world of our future We will follow many different paths but we will never forget our mutual background the laughter and sadness we shared and finally our graduation The current of the river has been swift and the dangers many Our teachers have given us encouragement not only in moments of success but also in moments of despondency and failure The wisdom they have imparted to us will go with us over the stormy sea of life These have been years filled with both frustration and success the first time we entered Mlllville Hugh School as freshmen the awe with which that we were called upperclassmen these are things that add a touch of spice to life Now that we are seniors we can look back and appreciate these loys an sorrows Many of us feel that we might have clone better If we had tried lust a little harder We hope we have behaved ourselves in such a way as to make our teachers proud of us and set an example for future classes It only seems fitting that this our senior year opens a new decade the 60 s The promise of the future as bright though storm clouds occasionally hover over the horizon Opportunities unlimited are within our sight We need only to reach out and grasp them before they drift away Our graduation will mean as many different things as there are students in the Class of 1960 However we shall all recall wnth fondest memories our friends our teachers and our experiences together While rounding the last bend in the river let us remember these things and then look forward to The Sea of Life f . Twenty advanced Latin students are discovering the truth of that statement through their activities in the local chapter of the Junior Classical League. Their interest in the Latin language carries them into enthusiastic investigations of Roman literature, history, biography, travel, and related fields. Regularly, they discover over cookies and punch that Latin is not the dead language it is reputed to be. l N DANCE BAND The Dance Band was organized to give those instrumentalists throughout the school interested in that kind of work a chance to meet and play the kind of music they enioy.
