International Club The aims of International Club are to give students a better understanding of world situations and a chance to discuss them. It allows students to benefit from the experiences of speakers and to ex- press their views on controversial sub- iects. The club sponsored various speakers, such as foreign exchange students and prominent businessmen of Tulsa. They also sponsored two movies as a service to students of Memorial. A.F.S. The A.F.S. chapter at Memorial com- pleted another year of helping to pro- mote a better understanding of the na- tions of the world. The activities began in late August when they welcomed Mer- cedes Abalos ot Chile and Gaye Bulut ot Turkey, Memorial's A.F.S. students. The chapter assisted the Student Council with the candy sales which will finance next year's foreign exchange program. ln late January they welcomed back Sandy Buz- zalini who was a participant in the Ameri- cans Abroad program. This year's officers were Rhonda Green- berg, President, Janey Lunsford, Vice- President, Mary Cook, Secretary-Treasur- er, and Mrs. Mary Lou Bulloch, sponsor. The obiectives of the Masque and Gav- el Society are to recognize and promote achievement in all areas ot speech and to sponsor a better relationship between the school and community. Membership re- quirements include participating in a play, an assembly, passing a written test, and completing a proiect. The most important event of the year for the club was the presentation of the Masque and Gavel play, in which mem- bers and technicians displayed their tal- ents. They assisted the community by selling tickets for the Tulsa Children's Theatre. Officers were Renee Tadlock, Presi- dent, David Zeliff Ill, Vice-President, Don- na Hinds, Secretary, Jvim Logan, Treasurer, Rhonda Greenberg, Historian, and Mr. Donald Hamilton, sponsor.
