We the students of Memorial, in order to promote better rela- tionship between students, administration, community, and teachers, and inter-school relationships, in order to provide opportunity for participation in student government, and, to provide more scholastic incentive among the student body do hereby establish this constitu- tion for Memorial High School Student Council. This, the Preamble of the Memorial High School Student Council Constitution, most clearly states the purpose of our organization. The prime purpose of American Education is to train for citizens requires a direct relation between knowledge and practice. The Student Council is to a student of citizenship what a laboratory is to a student of chemistry. The Student Council provides an outlet for the views of our young men and women on issues that they will face as citizens in a democracy. This spring the club chose the Junior girls who will be the foundation for next year's organization.
