Through the years, the course deepened to unfold such areas as grammar and literature. Freshmen began the year posed with reading selections from such classic literature as Charles Dickens Great Expectations as well as short stories from various classical periods. The second semester invited freshmen to study ancient Greek mythology in detail as well as poetry and drama, which included Romeo and julietf' Moving into the sophomore year, students strove to put together a thesis, introduction, body and conclu- sion into the prevailing five paragraph paper.
