Then the Mustangs came face to face with Conroe and found their first defeat by the score of T2-14. Thomson said, 'fWe were capable of being 9-T if we had beaten Conroe. The Sophomore Team gave Coach Denny a new pair of cowboy boots and Coach Hudson received a leisure suit. The team put in lots of time and thought to the gifts which were much appreciated. The Sophomore Team could be considered a close team that played well together. I was pleased with the progress the boys made throughout the year, said Coach Denny.
