A L I -wen, Stephen Valcik Russian Though Russian literature and tradition are otten described as depressing, none ot this gloom has intiltrated the Russian Club, whose announced goal is to learn about day-to-day Russian lite and the true nature ot the Rus- sian people. Pursuance otthis goalwas abetted by lectures with slides on Russia trom speakers like Dr. Malcolm MacPhail, protessor at Rice. What club members absorbed trom these ex- periences was revealed in the Sangertest December lb, when they sang the Lord's Pray- er and several Russian tolk songs in Russian. Through cookie and cake sales members rais- ed money tor a spring International Theme party teaturing guests trom several nations.
