'TH Mustangs Upset by North Shore. End Ken Pearson l87l appears boxed in atter receiving a Carter pass. It was a dismal night at Grob Stadium as the Mustangs tried everything, but could not come up with the right combination, losing to North Shore I3-O. Two long punt returns by North Shore's Dickie Phillips proved to be the ditterence as the Ponies lost their tirst game ot the year. Memorial had no trouble moving the ball-except inside the North Shore ten yard line where advances were twice stopped in the tirst halt. The detensive unit, led by Bill Glaros, Greg Jones, Ken Pearson, and Jim Isbell played an outstanding game against the speedy Galena Park team but to no avail as the ot- tense could not hold onto the ball on the sloppy tield and carry itin tora score. Glenn Shahan cuts sharply against North Shore.
