The team is composed of | the Sophomore players and Junior Varsity players, rather than having two separate teams. The result was terrific as the fellows retained the district crown with a perfect 12-0 record. Austin was the culprit in 1964, and Jones did the deed in 1965, 69-61. Kent Taylor pushed 28 points through the hoop and Jerry Kroll had 12. Height proved to be the damaging factor as Memorial was out-rebounded, 46-27. Rolling over twenty district opponents with ease and establishing an impressive perfect mark, the freshman cagers under the direction of Coach Dave Figari moved solidly into the Memorial basketball family. Downy Vickery was top man in the scoring column with a twelve point average. Randy Lee had an eleven point average, and Robbie Gustafson had eight points a game.
