San Antonio Tournament San Antonio area high schools felt the power of the Mus- tangs, as they romped over highly rated prep teams for their sec- ond straight tourney crown. Wins included games over Alamo Heights, 75-50, Mar- shall 76-52, and fa- vored Central Catholic, 87-67. Jerry Kroll, Mike Millegan, and Kent Taylor made all- tournament. Contemplation. Jacoby. 272 Cop Two Tourney Crowns Spring Branch Tournament Memorial captured the ninth annual Spring Branch tournament by rolling over Davis 87-66, Northshore 102-52, Westbury 67-50, and Waltrip 71-69, in suc- cessive games. Jerry Kroll gained all- tournament honors for the second straight year by net- ting 68 points in the four games. Jerry Kroll (42) hits for two against Davis, while Roland Carter (54) follows up. Houston Jaycee Unsuccessful for the first time in 1964-65 tournament play, the Mustangs were upset in ‘their second outing by Robert E. Lee of Houston, 50-48. In the first game against Brazosport, the Ponies ran over the Exporters, 71-60, with Jerry Kroll netting 30 points.

Raiders The Raider unit of Coach Don Coleman’s Fighting Mustangs was composed of 61 2” Vernon Cross, 6'0” Bob Bramlette, 5’10” Jim Lesch, 6’4” Jerry Kroll, 6’4” Mike Mil- legan, and 6’22” Kent Taylor. Kroll and Millegan controlled the boards with frequent assists from Kent Taylor. Lesch and Bramlette were responsible for putting the ball in play from down court. Cross backed up Lesch, and Bramlette and ’ was noted for his fine defensive play and ball stealing. Kroll, Millegan, and Cross will be back next year to represent the Mustangs, but Lesch, Bramlette, and Taylor graduate this spring. BOTTOM ROW: Vernon Cross, Bob Bramlette, Jim Lesch. BACK ROW: Jerry Kroll, Mike Millegan, and Kent Taylor. Rustlers The Rustlers are made up of 6'3” Steve Jacoby, 6’2Y2” Neill Armstrong, 6’4” Ro- land Carter, 6’3” Dick Hamner, 6'1” Paul Poythress, 5‘11” Chris Pappas, and 6'1” Ford Hall. Jacoby, Armstrong, and Carter cleared the net, with Hamner grabbing a few of his own. Hall, Pappas, and Poythress han- dled the job of putting the ball in play. Poythress was the defensive threat of the Rustlers. Armstrong, Hamner, Jacoby, and Pappas will be gone next year, while Hall, Poy- thress, and Carter aid the Mustang cause once again. BOTTOM.
