Steve Prichard (81), Ted Carey (40), and Mike Regitz (32) clear a hole for Nick Ware (37) against Aldine. Aldine Takes a 28-6 Hoof; Defense Shines Aldine fell hard to the Mustangs after giving a little fight, 28-6, at Aldine. Roland Carter was at the helm replacing injured Alford. He scored from one yard out for the only score of the first half. Carter hit end Dick Flynn for a 19 yard TD pass in the third period. Jess Still intercepted an Aldine pass and returned it 55 yards for another touchdown. Glenn Shahan ended the scoring for the Ponies with a 29 yard sweep at right end. Carter added each conversion. Spring Branch Wins In the coldest game of the year, the Spring Branch Bears won the season finale, 35-0, at Grob Stadium. Glenn Shahan is hit but gets his pass away. John Lawson (62) moves in to assist against Spring Branch.

Northshore Falls in the Mud, |3-0 A muddy battle that was scoreless for three and one half quarters, ended 13-0 in Memorial's favor at Northshore’s Lement Stadium. An exciting finish was provided by Glenn Shahan and the sterling Pony defense. Shahan scored twice on end runs as the “Headhunters” held good field position deep in Northshore terri- tory late in the game. Although Roland Carter's first extra point try was blocked, he placed the second one neat- ly through the uprights and out of the park to end the game 13-0, Memorial.
