Medical Careers Visits Medical Center A better understanding and knowledge of the med- ical field is the aim of the Medical Careers Club. Mem- bers participated in field trips to the Houston Medical Center, sponsored a Christmas party for the children at Faith Home, and attended the Harris County Medical Careers Club Rally Day in March. Club member Nancy Getchey is shown experimenting with heart cultures. Through Future Homemakers of America, girls learn “to improve personal, family and community life.” Various activities were sponsored to encourage this goal: selling cook books and baked foods to finance Christmas baskets for needy families, making Val- entines Day and Easter hospital decorations, and en- tertaining speakers to discuss the purpose and ideas of FHA. Library Club Members Serve as Aids The Library Club at Memorial Senior High School is a service organization whose mem- bers give a portion of their time to serve as assistants in the school library. The club’s major activities include a program meeting once a month for instruction, and a second monthly meeting to carry on business per- taining to the club.
