Jr. Historians Foster Civic Spirit pisos To promote civic spirit and give a greater knowledge of history, the Junior Historians Club programs included guest speakers on various facets of history, slides on Europe, discussions on current events and their re- lation to the past, and the annual trip to the State Convention in Austin. Members must have an interest in history before joining, and this is increased by the activities of the club. PALS Aid in Library Fund Drive FEL PED pas i) The purpose of the Phi Alpha Lambda Society is to extend service throughout the school, com- munity, and county. The club began its first year by joining with the Junior Chamber of Com- merce in the fund-raising drive for the Elizabeth Ring Library, presented a Christmas program at the Tetherwood Nursing Home, served the school as hostesses for the guidance program speakers, and gave Thanksgiving and Christmas foods to needy families.
