AFS is rapidly being formed in most secondary schools throughout the United States. The club’s main ac- tivity is raising money to sponsor foreign students each year in school. Its long range objective is to establish a firm root for international understanding through students who will be future leaders of their countries. Spanish Club Hosts Mexican Students Entertaining Mexican exchange students was the most important and interesting project under- taken by the MHS Spanish Club. Four students lived for four weeks with Spring Branch and Me- morial residents and arrived just in time to cele- brate the holiday season with club members. Open to all Spanish students, the club proposes to aid Spanish classes in the practice of conversational Spanish and to deepen the student's knowledge of the culture of both Spain and Latin American countries. Kirk test new equipment in the The Memorial Electronics Student Society (MESS) is composed of those students enrolled in both the junior and senior electronics classes. One of the ob- jectives of the club, to give some practical experience in working with electronic equipment, is met with the repair of equipment, mostly radios for students and faculty. The nominal fee above the cost of parts is used to buy additional tools and supplies for the department.
