Concert Band Perfects Musicianship The Concert band performed as part of the march- ing band at athletic events in the fall. A busy schedule maintained from fall through spring Provided opportunities for members of the orchestra to demonstrate their skills. Class time was spent in prep- aration for the frequent concerts and programs in which the orchestra took part. Constant competition with other schools produced a final professional touch. Their pre- sentations were both pleasurable and diversified ranging from classical music to contemporary jazz. In the All-Regional tryouts at Waltrip, nine students placed, and five of them were selected for the All-State orchestra to perform in Dallas in February.
