From the first echo of harmony for the Teachers Work- shop in late August to the dying strain of “Beautiful Sav- ior’ for the Easter Concert, the CHORALE has provided its audiences with many moods o f music. The moving hymns and carols of Christmas, the rollicking lyrics of the selections for the Choral Workshop, and the sonorous anthems of Easter proved ample repertoire for the group. Assembly programs at the junior high schools, an Easter Sunrise Service, competition with other choirs at the Buc- caneer Music Festival in Corpus Christi in May, the Barber- shop “Harvest of Harmony” in the fall, and the guest college choir from Texas Christian University offered addi- tional variety in programs. Their yearly activities are varied, and include concerts with the Chorale at Christmas, participation in the All-Choir Workshop with outstanding guest directors, a Candlelight Christmas Vesper Service in conjunction with the other Girls’ Choirs in the Spring Branch District, concerts at local churches at Christ- mas and Easter, and guest appearances at Lakeside Country Club, and at the Music Hall with the Houston Civic Ballet Company.
