Hoofprints, Best Buy at MHS ial Appearing originally last year as a one- sheet, three-penny paper, the Hoofprints expanded in size this year to four pages and in price to five cents. Published twice a week, Hoofprints was prepared by a small staff of Memorial students with the support of the journalism classes. Co-edi- tors Sheri Nelson and Julie Kefauver wel- comed all editorial comments and feature items from the student body itself, often joing to great pains to see that the censor didn’t completely demolish each master- piece before it went to press. Money was not a foreign subject to the Hoofprints staff, for the nickels kept rolling in every Tuesday and Friday after- noon during lunch. Business manager, Cindy Camp, and her helper, Linda Muel- ler, kept the funds under lock and key. Feature editor, Tim Fleck, and Illustra- tions editor, Bill Narum, provided the predominately female staff with the “checks and balances” which were often necessary in meeting deadlines. Assistant editor, Diane Glavis, was often the jack-of- STAFF MEMBERS: BOTTOM ROW: S. Nelson, J. Kefauver, SECOND ROW: B, Narum, Dp, @!! trades, typing stencils, reading copy, Glavis, C. Camp, L. SECOND ROW: Mike Withrow, student director; Louis Anderson, president. From the first echo of harmony for the Teachers Work- shop in late August to the dying strain of “Beautiful Sav- ior’ for the Easter Concert, the CHORALE has provided its audiences with many moods o f music. The moving hymns and carols of Christmas, the rollicking lyrics of the selections for the Choral Workshop, and the sonorous anthems of Easter proved ample repertoire for the group. Assembly programs at the junior high schools, an Easter Sunrise Service, competition with other choirs at the Buc- caneer Music Festival in Corpus Christi in May, the Barber- shop “Harvest of Harmony” in the fall, and the guest college choir from Texas Christian University offered addi- tional variety in programs. Chorale members were constantly practicing for the many programs presented during the year. 206 they vice-president; Bruce Valentine, section leader; Pody Smith,
