Two more dances with her and then you have to dance with mel!!! (Ginger Nevill, Jim Isbell, and Suzanne Porter) Memorial girls plotted again this year to find male escorts to the 1965 Sigma Gamma sponsored twirp dance. Titled the “Bwana Bop”, this year’s theme was a jungle-island costume party. Guests masqueraded as wild natives, Tarzans and Janes, and even tangerines. Music was furnished by the Interns and a skit of the “dark continent’ pro- vided the entertainment. Aw come on! Those can’t be real whiskers! Mr. Leroy Thomas and the orchestra provided the musical back- ground for the program while Mr. Charles Johnson, from KPRC T.V., acted as master of ceremonies. Pianist Peter Juley and the “In- terns” made the hall ring with their music. The height of the evening came when Jeanne Cecala and Judd Brooke were crowned Mr. and Miss Memorial 1965. 177
