Ayala's semifinal opponent at 7:30 p.m. Thursday will be Derrick Holmes, the de- f e n d i n g national Golden Gloves flyweight champ who was a member of the United States team which fought the Russians in Las Vegas, Nev., ai month ago. Holmes is from Washington, D.C.
