mm TIMARON 75 Moving along the winding path of life Full of diversions. Wishing, w ondering. Which w ay tc go? I search to find a future for myself; An ideal to grasp and hold on to, To grow and prosper within my soul. The road is hazy with clouds of uncertainty. I stumble and fall. But the path is forever alive β€” Animated, spirited β€” Pushing me further into time. I long for a place where I can belong, To find peace; to be, Somewhere to plant my roots So I can blossom as a tree β€” Tall, strong, and free. The Library wUl be closed today periods 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7. Seniors, I have to comment on the volume of the radio in the lounge . . . Mr. Card ' s classes please report to the office, Avoid the Christmas rush take advantage of the DECA store special on nose warmers. A change in the menu; instead of our usual bit ' s v e will have macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes and peanut butter sandwiches with peanut butter chews for dessert. One more announcement. The bell will be held 5 minutes for the elections for Chess Club officers. Please pause for a moment of silence . . . Rise for the pledge to the flag. Ring!!! Please ingore that bell. (I know we ' re trying to conserve electricity, but shutting off all the lights in the stairwell is a little ridiculous.) 10 min. into first per. Teachers, please excuse this interruption. Click. Everyone waits and waits. 5 min. later. Will Mr. Goodnow please report to the main office. Mr. Goodnow to the main office. The class is a typical first period class. Most heads are down on the desks, snores and heavy breathing fill the air. Click. Teachers, the bells are not working, students may pass to period 2. Period 2. Gym. The gym is cold enough as it is, but when the fire alarm rings and half-clad students tiptoe out into the wet parking lot, curses fill the air. The enthusiastic students stand around fighting with each other over who ' s going on what equipment last. Third period Teachers please excuse this interruption ... Ringinggggg Ring!! . . . Fourth period. Everyone is starving. They wait tensely standing at the door. The teacher says to go and they ' re off!!! You run down the hall, take the stairs three at a time, you run to the cafeteria door. There ' s no one there yet!! You might even get a complete lunch . . . But the inevitable happens. You ' re stopped before you can go in. You must wait for the bell. You choose your forks carefully. You don ' t want a bent or warped one. For some reason the desserts look familiar β€” they ' re yesterday ' s leftovers. What a gourmet treat!! Macaroni Cheese and peanut butter sandwiches!! Finding a seat without food on it is adventuresome and you need more gymnastic ability to keep from landing on your posterior because of slipping on jello than you do for the unevens! There is usually five minutes left to eat lunch after you get out of the lunch line. Sixth period. Silently each person contends with the after effects of lunch. The teacher ' s voice becomes far away as the students lunch begins to take its toll and students start to drop off. ZZzzzzzClick. Teachers, sorry about this interruption Seventh period. You walk into the room wide awake after your refreshing nap. The class begins, the teacher smiles fiendishly. She begins passing out a surprise test, groans and complaints fill the room. The cries of injustice die down. The teacher after all has the final victory. In the silence you heard some slight grumbling and a few sighs of defeat. Thus, another day ends at MHS. Click There will be no Drivers Ed today after school. The school almost empty now except for the matron, a few custodians and the secretaries. Only one or two lone students here the echoing call, The late bus is now boarding at the Main Lobby. A spectacular game was played by Co-captains Dave Harrison and Tom Warren; Harrison with a particularly fine running game, and Warren as a stand-out for defense. Glenn Flood, Dale Guiducci, Mike Gillis, Jay White, and Mark Hannon played a great game in their respective defensive post- ions. Credit should be given to the consistantly accurate point after specialists β€” Peter Micheals and Paul Trinque. Reappearing from a mid-season injury was the greatly missed Glenn Lydon, who appeared frequently in the game and made a fine showing. The final score was 26-14 with Hanover winning. We are proud of our team and the showing they made both in the game and throughout the season, and will always remember the excitement and feeling of accom- plishment which the Superbowl means. 63 THUNDER Tom Warren scored 12 touchdowns this year and gained 800 yards rushing. This years Varsity team consisted mainly of under- classmen with only four members of the Class of 1975 on the team: Co-Captains Tom Warren and Mike Gillis, Charlie Anderson and Norman Calvin. Several members of this years team accomplished feats worthy of mention. Tom Warren had a dual meet record of 10-0. He finished fourth in the State tourney; second in the Suburban sectionals and won the Marshfield tourney where he was voted the out- standing wrestler of the tournament. Sophomore Ro- ger Holdworth won the Suburban sectional in his weight class and was runner-up in the Marshfield Tourney. Bob Johnson, a junior, had a 9-0 dual meet record. We were young and filled with aspirations, while the school was new and abounded with promise. Like the young tree that has not yet reached full matu- rity, the schoo l, like ourselves, was undeveloped. We had great hopes for the future and were eager to fulfill our dreams. 157 Our four years here inspired us to think for ourselves, and each of us acquired a direction of our own. We blossomed under Mid- dleborough High School ' s influences, while leaving our own indelible mark. Now we are looking toward new horizons; we are the growing tree that has yet to reach its full potential. Our time here is almost over, but we still have new goals to achieve. In the years ahead, we can look back on our high school years with a feeling of accomplishment and only then understand the full meaning our high school experience has had on our lives.
