Kenneth L. Johnson Principal PrincipaVs Message to the Seniors Wend forth from gleam to goal lest One ' s ego contains him for naught. Relieve the bind of vestigial tradition that Looks not just the soul but the mind of man. Defend not the past that enlightens not the present. Let go of the pre-essences carefully tho, — for Integrity must prevail in one ' s value design. Neo-social awareness bespeaks of the transcedence of Emotional preceptions, seemingly comfortable; Seductive, however, in that complacency merely Sanctions the present, unmindful of what the future will demand. 16

Lincoln D, Lynch Superintendent of Schools Message to the Seniors: Successful people become successful because they have formed the habit of doing things failures don ' t like to do. The famous French writer, Jean Cocteau, had a rule of living: Always to get up one more time than I have fallen. Perhaps the most dramatic words on the subject of hard work are contained in the motto of the U.S. Army Engineers: The difficult we do at once. The impossible takes a little longer. Remember that most people who have realized their dreams have had to fight to slay the same dragons that you will have to battle. They have, as you must, held on to their dreams and stood toe to toe with adversity until they won. As you set out to face the world aim for the stars and hold onto your dreams. It will not always be easy but, if you believe in your dream, if you learn the art of getting along with and serving your fellowman, and if you have the willingness to stand squarely on your own feet and battle, your dreams will no longer be dreams, you ' ll be there.

Assistant Principals Mr. Joseph King Message to the Seniors: God grant me the courage to change the things I can change, the serenity to accept those I cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference. — But God grant me the courage not to give up what I think is right, even though I think it is hope- less. Attributed to: Admiral Chester W. Nimitz Armed Forces Prayer Book — 1951 Best wishes for the success of every member of the class of 1973. Sincerely, .Joseph L. King Mr. Norman MacDonaicL Message to the Seniors: In life there are no guarantees; yet opportunities are abundant. Success and failures become as mere points on a scorecard as one travels down the highway of challenge. My sincerest wish for each one of you is that the totals on your scorecard of experience will be overwhelmingly those of success, and rich in the satis- faction of joyful living. Good Luck to the class of 1973. Norman L. MacDonald
