Itss scNOVv99 9 Variety Show, Now , directed by Mr. Richard Weber left vivid memories in the minds of many hard-working M.H.S. students. In spite of the failure of the sound system on opening night, the show went on. Both per- formances were given before a near capacity crowd. About 325 students participated in fifty-two various acts. This year the emphasis was placed on skits and humor where in the past it was on group and solo dancing. The audience's attention was captured by the abilities of Nancy Brousseau and Gail Hanson on unicycles. .. it 4 fa. i 'S I 1 4' i cs I , 3, , 'Z S M 1 as A ' E I V Vgvi A V . 1, my 4 1 Qian ' '-' I IE V K 1- S, If Six persistent mice use brainwork to get their cheese. Unique Ideas Attract Audiences In addition to two full length plays this year, there were three one act plays. The one- acts were directed by Bob Carr, a student teacher. Mr. Weber directed the major play, Ju- lius Caesar, which was presented in a unique style. The actors performed on a set designed as a chess board. They moved from square to square until the assassination scene, when the performers were in checkmate position. The Thespian play, The Crucible, was about the Salem witchcraft trials and the people who took part in them. As the play was a Thespian production, Ann Dooley di- rected, rather than Mr. Weber. In The Crucible, Kris Midelfort pleads with Al Om- dahl. 3 may 3 F if Students tried their dramatic ability in one-act plays
