Orchestral Rhythm Crescendos January ninth Was an important date for Memorial's orchestra this past year. In com- petition With other high schools and universi- ties they were chosen to play at the Music Educators' Convention in Madison. Among the numerous other activities, the orchestra presented a November fall concert and performed at the Masonic Temple for the mentally retarded during Christmas. Madrigal members are: Carol Peterson, Judy Christopher, Chuck Miller, Steve Staves, Jean Anderson, Ron Hen- nig, Jenny Gruber, Sue Hendrickson, Roger Anderson, Barb Hegge, Brian Ward, Stan Dale, Donna. Anderson Jan Crinion, Vic Ortiz, Al Omdahl. Madrigals Awaken Minstrel Spirit A totally new group of senior choir mem- bers, chosen through individual tryouts, make up the Madrigals. Folk music and 17th cen- tury songs Were sung in the fall and spring. During Winter, the carolers were a common sight around the school and community. Adding to their busy schedule this spring, the Madrigals joined other Wisconsin Madri- gal groups and performed concerts concern- ing Madrigal music. Making her own Madrigal outfits keeps Donna Ander- son busy for many hours. Good times follow many Madrigal rehearsals.

New Uniforms Add Color and Appeal to Band Q5 'sf' Mr. Kuehn finds much paper work connected with directing a band. Directing this year's MHS band was Mr. Kuehn, a former Mondovi instructor. With Mr. Kuehn, came many new ideas. For the first time he incorporated one drum major and five majorettes into the band. One big change the MHS band has un- dergone is the growth in the number of mem- bers. The increase was more than twenty five percent.
