Ideas Are Broadcast As the media of radio and television have grown in importance, the need for people skilled in these areas has grown. The Radio-T.V. Class has given students an awareness of the use, and possible misuse, of these media as pro- paganda tools. A radio program, ranging in subject from current events to witchcraft, was produced by the class during the first quarter. They also planned to present two television specials. vfswlwwsxvsiosl Just prior to recording, Steven Robertson and Jon Quick scan their scripts. Students must test and listen to various rec- ords before taping. Finished tapes are interviewed before delivery to the radio station. l N

Enlarging pictures is only one of the activities of the photography class. Students display many different types of cameras. Sorting the good quality and the poor quality pictures takes much time. sm-.,,,m .EN sas- Q ,. ......,.,,,,-.,,,-N sqm, i In 'ex X Pictures Tell a Story Besides learning to take pictures and to develop them, the photography class also plays a major role in depicting the activities of the school in pictures. Because of the in- creased request for the course, ten or fifteen students had to be turned away. A new elec- tronic light and enlarger were purchased this year, and for the first time the staff had an opportunity to work with colored prints. A lifetime hobby is many times an out- growth of the class. 'at Obtaining the right contrast is dif- ficult. Printing pictures involves timing.

Audio-Visual Students Assist Teachers As an A.V. student, Steve Olin helps duplicate thou- sands of pages per day. sss Q 'ff Filling an order for a transparency is one assignment of Carol Parkinson. Showing 16 mm films is an audio-visual activity familiar to all, but many other teach- ing aids were supplied by the department. A variety of equipment, such as tape record- ers, phonographs, overhead projectors, and closed circuit television, were provided. All filmstrips and records, available for use by students or teachers, were kept in this sec- tion. Making transparencies for use on over- head projectors and videotaping activities which can be viewed later on closed circuit T.V. were among the services provided.
