Dramatists Project Enhancing school productions was the main job of the drama department. Among these jobs are, aiding in the Variety Show, putting on plays, and producing the Academy Awards at the end of the year. While first year students study the the- ater and work on stage exercises, second and third year s t u d e n t s concentrate on play- wrights, the modern theater, and continue work on stage. I i , ,- 5 if li Under careful direction of Mr. Weber, drama students easily increased stage knowledge. Debaters display their trophies of achievement. Debaters Research Foreign Policy The debate class, consisting of 20 mem- bers, was separated into three divisions, Var- sity, Sub-Varsity and Novice. They made many trips, including seven overnights and competed in 18 tournaments. The Varsity squad entered district and sectional compe- tition and were eligible for state with a 6-0 record. The squads were coached by Mr. Art McMi11ion formerly from West Bend, Wiscon- sin. Nancy Nicolet, Don Houser, Brad Myers and Carole Mills are tournament bound. gl fi 3 1 i i Scott Herrick and Beth Helwig discuss their strategy with Mr. McMillion.

Stageoraft Allows Creativity Precision by Mark Mueller is required to make stage sets. Dave Myers and Dan Dachel find working with chicken wire exasperating. Stagecraft worked with drama classes to help create school productions. The students made the background scenery for plays, as- semblies, and the Variety Show. Construction for the Variety Show included Working on a ten foot statue of Athena. Mr. Weber, director of stagecraft, helped the students gain better understanding of stage crafts. .'i jstzlfii. - rig .
