Girls' Gymnastics Add Tournament Schedule Girls tumbling involved approximately 100 girls, with Mrs. Gunsolley teaching the beginners and Miss Ulrich the advanced class. It was possible for girls in the advanced class to compete in five invitational tourna- ments, hosted by River Falls, North, Chippe- wa Falls, Cadott, and La Crosse. Among the outstanding gymnasts were Barb Pieper, Lynn Rulien, Jan Dale, Diane Ostenso, and Ann Harry. S ? n Debbie Douglas executes a front scale on the balance beam. Amidst other activities, Barb Pieper works on her shoulder stand. Lynn Rulien performs a squat vault, a maneuver done on the vaulting buck.

Swimmers Rival Competitors During the 1969-1970 season, Memorial's swim team was composed mostly of Juniors and Sophomores. With the help of three re- turning Senior letter winners, Coach Ness's team comprised a 7 Win 3 loss record. The team placed fifth out of eight teams in a spe- cial relay meet held at River Falls. This year Todd Berg set a new record in the ifty yard Freestyle with a time of 24.7 seconds. The old record was 25 seconds set in 1967. Abes take a timeout during practice. Front Row: G. Patrow, A.
