Dr. Ceorge R. Quinn 1927-1985 We dedicate this yearbook to the memory of Dr. Ceorge R. Quinn. The Melrose community was shocked and saddened to learn of the untimely death of Dr. Quinn in February of 1985. Dr. Quinn served as our Superintendent of Schools from 1969 until his retirement in December of 1983. Dr. Quinn left many legacies to our school system including the new high school, a rejuvenated curriculum and model programs in occupational education and pupil services. We were fortunate to have as our superintendent a man of vision who was willing and able to lead. He inspired many of us. Although his passing has taken him from our midst, his spirit will continue to thrive in our community for generations. 3 I . M: -T : tr ;

Senior Officers PRESIDENT BILL LOWELL Message from the Senior Class President Many thanks to the class of 1985 The past three years will be remembered as the best years of our lives Even though we may have had our differences, we will always remember each other as friends as we go our separate ways. Hopefully, Melrose High School has prepared us for the future Graduating from high school is a happy time, but it is mixed with sadness, as we may never see each other as long as we live. However, that does not mean we will never meet again ' I wish you all suc- cess and happiness in the future. I hope you all get your slice of American Pie Remember me because I ' ll always remember you Thank you M.H.S.i Charles W. Lowell (Bill) VICE PRESIDENT MAR Y PHILLIPS Message from the Vice-President The class of 1985 would like to thank our class ad- visors, Ms. Carrabis and Ms. McCauly, for their wonderful support and guidance. Thanks to them we have had a very successful senior year. The Halloween Party and the Winterball were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended This senior class was fortunate to be the first class in many years to hold our proms in two different halls, instead of having both at Caruso ' s Diplomat. As we all go our separate ways, we will carry with us the fondest memories from Melrose High School. The best of luck to the graduating class. Many thanks to Mr. Claude H Croston and the faculty for their help and cooperation. 4
