This page is dedicated to Mr. John Hughes. During his years as an occupational education teacher at Melrose High School, Mr. Hughes has shown an uncommon dedication to his students. He is friendly while maintaining authority and understanding without being condescending. No teacher is more involved in student affairs than Mr. Hughes. The Log was without an advisor until he stepped in, sacrificing much of his free rime Nor only does he advise, he listens, and is always ready to accept other opinions John Hughes is a man respected by both teachers and students. We on the Log staff would like to thank him for his humor, his sanity and his friendship throughout the year. He is an excellent advisor, a fine teacher, and a close friend. Simon soys . The rime has come For closing books, and long lost looks must end , . . I know I ' m leaving my best friend A friend who taught me right from wrong and weak from strong And that ' s o lot to leorn. What con I give you in return? Joe Cool 3
