Laverty SOCCER After a few years of struggle, the soccer team has finally captured an honorable position amoung M.H.S. sports. Captained by Ted Baier, Chris DeChristopher, and Paul Laverty, this year ' s varsity booters completed their most successful season in M.H.S. soccer history. The talent and spirit of the team led them to a fine record of 9 wins, 5 losses, and 2 ties. The narrow loss of only one game prevented them from qualifying for state competi- tion. Highlights of the season were the exciting 2-1 last second victory over Lexington, and the two wins against Winchester. The enthusiasm of Larry Applegate won him the team ' s award for most spir- ited player, Mike O ' Hara, high scorer for the year was duly credited with this title, and Paul Laverty was honored as being most valuable player.
