As we stared in astonishment, a chauffeur lightly stepped out and proceeded to open the rear door. Our biggest shock was yet to come, for as we watched in amazement, Allen Ziegler agedly stepped out. We asked him if he had seen anything of the other membersg then, he showed his surprise. He directed his chauffeur to open the backdoor and Norma Williams and Richard Reis joined our party. Now, we began to talk over our adventures during our past ten years. Allen QDOCJ it seems has become an Internal Revenue Collector. Richard Reis has become a prominent New York lawyer, and Norma Williams has acquired quite a name for herself as a fashion designer. In her spare time she models for fashionable dress shops in the down town district of New York. It has been a long hard drive and all the positions -were seemingly earned. Someone said, Doris and Bernice, where are they? Then Anna Mae remarked that she had kept regular correspondence with Bernice, and at the present time she was studying music in London. In some of Bernice's later letters, she had hinted that Doris would accompany her back from London. Well they should be here by three this afternoon, said Anna Mae, at least that's what her telegram said. Since we both knew them to be chums and classmates all through school, we just took it for granted that they would come together. A telephone call came, saying the girls were at the station, so Doc sent his chauffeur after the girls. Later as we talked, we learned what each of the other class member had been doing. Since we seemed to know the least about what Doris had done, we asked her to relay her adventures during the past ten years. There isn't much to tell except that l've been traveling, said Doris. She then described the many beautiful things she had 'seen on her trips. We all knew that Bernice had been studying music in London, so we naturally wondered what she planned on doing after she had finished her studies. Most of us were familiar with some of the popular hit tunes such as That Lucky Old Moon and her Gruesome Blues Polka , but, she has won national acclaim from the New York Civic Opera, were she has given scheduled performances. lt's getting rather late and 1 still have homework to grade, I remarked. Where are you teaching now, Betty? asked Bernice. At Norton Wood, and it's still the Third grade too. Before the gathering broke up, we planned on another meeting in 1975, just 15 years from this day of May 18, 1960. 10
