Class History In the fall of 1939, twenty-three pupils entered the portals of learning. Under the guiding hand of Miss Farely the following pupils started down the trail of education: Dwight Bachman, Glen Bucklew, Ray Darrah, Clarence Dittmer, Herb Dixson, Paul Ennis, Norma Hansaker, Frank I-Iaug, David Kouzlarich, Richard Kerr, Norma King, Marion Long, Margaret Mart, Bobby Stewart, Bertha Umble, Charlton Wheeler, David Willis, Delores Willis, Rodney Fisher, and Dwane Jones. We remember building a house in kinder- garten class. First grade with Miss Moore we lost Norma Hansaker, Dwane Jones, Bertha Umble, and gained Gene Keith, Ross Miller, Harry Rankin, Chet Tickle, and Don Quick. Second grade with Miss Fletcher we find we lost Ross Miller, Bobby Stewart, Harry Rankin, Gene Keith, Chet Tickle, Don Ouick, and Paul Ennis. But we gained Leo Herr, Bill Miller, Leorine Patterson, David Willoughby and Barbra Lost. Everyone got a whipping for talking when they were supposed to be quiet. Glen didn't think it hurt until he got the second whipping. Third grade under Miss Moore we gained Paul Ennis, Frank McCoy, Don Quick, Ardean Dabb, Bobby Fergusison, and lost Leorine Patterson, and Leo Herr. Miss Miller was our fourth grade teacher. We lost Paul Ennis, Bobby Fergusison, and gained Leo Harlow, Chet Tickle. Our teachers are growing in numbers as well as the number of students. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. Ritchie were our fifth grade teachers, We were increased by Tom Burgett, Jane Clark, Bill Miller, Delores Nofstger, Wayne Willis, Sarah Davis, Shirley Harding, and Marilyn Bachman. We lost Leo Harlow, Frank Haug, and Chet Tickle. Sixth grade was under the guiding hand of Mrs. Miller. That year we gained Dwight Marshall, Cecil Banks, and lost Frank McCoy, Norma King, and Shirley Harding. ' Our seventh grade started. with Mrs. Vrban and ended with Mrs. Liikie, Mrs. Moore and Mr. Reep. We gained that year Ken Smith, Jack Kingrey, Mary Agan, Dean Donahue, Jack Hyatt, Charles Ferguison, Eugene Stearns, Beulah Willoughby, Norma Hansaker, and lost Tommy Burgett, Dwight Marshall, Don Quick, and David Willis. Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Moore were our guardians in the eighth grade. Our only newcomer was Jim Wright. We were decreased in number by Charles Ferguison, Eugene Stearns, and Beulah Willoughby. Our Freshman year was a howling success with initiation. New faces were Clifford Becker, Loraine Hunt, and Maxine Hunt. Departing was Sarah Davis, Cecil Banks, Ardean Dabb, Jack Kingrey, Ken Smith, and Jim Wright. As Sophomores we were increased by Ralph Lang, Betty DeWitt, Bertha Umble, Don Grife and lost Wayne Willis.
