THE SCIEN The Science Club was originally set up in our school for the purpose of increasing interest in science. In trying to achieve this aim, they annually sponsor a schoolwide science fair, which is designed to give all scientifically-minded students a chance to display their work before the public. All the science fairs which they have sponsored have been tremendously successful, and each year they seem to improve. This year there were three divisions in the fair: physics-electronics, biology, and chemistry. There were three winners from each division, and they went to the state fair in Gainesville. Radiation, Inc. donated money for prizes and materials for the fair. In addition to the annual science fair, the club tries to provide more and better scientific facilities in our school for those who wish to use them. The teachers who sponsor the Science Club are Mr. McGregor, Mr. Einem, and Mr. Todd. Its main purpose is to try to show teen-agers that they can have a lot of fun without drinking alcoholic beverages. This aim is furthered by having parties and other activities at which alcohol is not permitted. The Allied Youth also puts on assemblies in which the evils of alcohol are pointed out. M, H. S.'s Allied Youth has about 20 members and it is rapidly growing. There is no pledge required to join, as they hope to thoroughly convince their members that alcohol is a curse. Mr. Robert L. Blubaugh is the sponsor of Allied Youth.
