The Honor Society is an organization whose object is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character and honesty in the students of Melbourne High School. Membership in the Honor Society is open to any sophomore, junior or senior who has maintained a ninety-three or above scholastic average for the preceding semester and meets the standards of leadership, character and service.

The main project of the Student Council this year was the operation of the Green and White, a concession stand for the students' convenience during both lunch hours. Through these projects the Student Council has endeavored to serve the student body and the administration to the best of its ability. JU 1011 RED CROSS This organization is the largest in Melbourne High School because every M. H. S. student is a member. The junior Red Cross Council is the governing body. junior Red Cross activities include-: their yearly membership driveg sending a high school chest overseas, participating in the international art and mtfsic projectg furnishing first aid kits for the schoolg providing favors for the Patrick Air Force Base Hospital, and giving a Christmas party for the patients at the base.
