Mr. Harry Wright, guest speaker at the M. H, S, Bul1dog's Football Banquet. FOOTBALL BANQUET The football season was highlighted by the annual Football Banquet at which the Bulldogs were honored with many awards. The Orange Belt Conference Champions received trophies from the Orlando Sen- tinel-Star, and the Florida Tirnes-Union newspapers. Coach Rick Gillespie presented all the members of the team with the letter awards. The players also received arm patches with the inscriptions, Orange Belt Conference C113If1Pi0I1S. and Brevard County Champions. An individual trophy went to Carl Meyer for the outstanding back. This was pre- sented by Mr, Harry Goode, Sr. Mr, Goode also presented Bill Stroud the outstanding linesman's trophy, The next award went to Alan Whiting and Ted Nida for being the most valuable players. This award came from the Bulldog's Quarterback Club. Captain Jack Platt presented Coach Rick Gillespie a statuette on behalf of the Bull- dog squad. A similiar award was given to Assistant Coach Buff Humphries. The Bulldogs also presented Arthur Pappy Roberts a gift in appreciation of his work for the team throughout the football season. The presentation was made by Ted Nida. The Junior Varsity was not to be outdone, as Howard Guilhaus also presented Coach Charles Gray a trophy, r Laco Rhodes presented Eddie Wood with the Laco Rhodes trophy for the most im- proved Iunior Varsity player, Mr. Harry Wright, the line coach from the University of Georgia, was guest speaker and added greatly to the success of this event.
