THE MEL-HI ANNUAL STAFF . . Fusses and Fumes to Meet Early Deadlines Seated, left to right: Eddie Io Davis, Business Manager, Lolly Leech, Editorg and Roxann Deitz. Stand- ing: Miss Alice Berastigui, advisorg Bob Porter, Jim Platt, Chuck Pierson, Kit Michels, Pat Doyle, and Ray McC1endon, ANN UA L STAFF Paying no heed to the old adage, Too many cooks spoil the broth the annual staff collected their pictures, ads, rulers, pencils, and glue and determinedly drew up the dummy, frequently referring to the following recipe: Stir hundreds of well-posed snapshots with several cupfulls of punchy captions. Sprinkle in the end- less stream of phone calls, letter writing, and appointments by the staff, Cream 80 photographs with many tablespoons of senior character sketches until fluffy, Add Miss Berastigui's advice and Dr, Brown's aid and beat thoroughly. Add months of hard work and clever ideas altemately, beating well after each addition. Fold in the photography class. Combine Eddie Io Davis' fantastic ideas, Roxann Deitz's humor and Ray McC1endon's thoughts and simmer slowly for several weeks, Sweeten with Lolly Leech's ambition to be a good editor. Poor into green and white cover and bake between four and five months. Serve a few weeks before graduation,

In order to acquire this information and certain specialized training, a journalism course was Offered this year for the first time to the students of Mel- bourne interested in becoming successful writers of the BULLDOG'S BARK, Those last minute paste-UPS may have aged the students and their supervisor, Miss Berastegui, but there was plenty off -the -record fun to balance the real work, 3 Ass ts-tif? ' fl.P'y0 y l an 1 N- In spite of the Journalism course being new to the students, they never failed to supply the students of Melbourne High with a copy of the BULLDOG'S BARK once a month. GLEE CLUB For the first time this year the Glee Club has become a full credit class. It is composed of students from the 9th through 12th, The class is under the direction of Mrs, Gleason. The Glee Club has taken part in several P, T.
