Through the aid of the Student Council the students leam to improve the school. The sponsor Mr. Adkison and Jim Platt attended the annual Southem Association of Student Councils Convention in Jackson, Mississippi this year. Students from the seventh and twelfth grades are elected as representatives from their various classes to be on the Council. Fred Howard was awarded the most valuable player trophy by the Quarter- back Club and the best back trophy given by Mr. Harry Goode. Though the Bulldogs didn't win many games, they did improve steadily as the season progressed Melboume s hopes for the future look very bright. The Bulldogs lose only two men, Fred Howard and Charlie Layne, This means Melboume will have eight lettermen back to form a fine nucleus for next year's team, Back again for another season will be Bob Groves in his fourth year and Carl Meyer for his third sea son on the varsity. Carl has always been near the top in scoring and should blossom out in the next two years, Bill Stroud and Jerry Garlock should be greatly improved with a year of varsity play under their belts Also coming back will be Eddie Parson, the freshman flash, Eddie is a certain star of the future.
