SENIOR STLMPEDE It all began when Rose fell down stairs--and that was dnough t begin it. Barbara was with her, but it should be noted that she did not push her, because in view of what effect such discriminating evi dence would have on Barbers, it must be noted. Of course, Barbara called Martha Belle and along with her came Marjorie and Eleanor, who immediately begen loud interrogations about the incident. About this time Kenneth made appearance on the scene where he im mediately took up a position of reclination against the door sill only to ease into a more comfortable position on the form of the prostrate Rose. From the English room presently immerged Peggy and Norma, who began a lengthy discussion of which bone was probably not broken an whether her ankles should be taped or not, when Otha, from the top step remarked with scientific eloquence the fact that cold water ought to be applied to relieve the swelling. Kenneth snorted and woke up demanding that someone go for Dyer. That gentleman was socna, dis- covered and with him were George, Ray, and Fred. In their wake were Edith, Roberta, and Mary Lou. Dyer dispatched the excited Edith to procure a pan of cold water, asked who was hurt, and then entered the discussion between George and Fred as to the plcusibility of the class sending flowers or c letter to Rose when she finally was trken to the hospital. Presently was heard L berutiful duet, and it was discovered that the eternal vocalizer of nOh Johnnyn, Harley, was being accompanied by Con, and upon such discovery, pending further investigation as to the advisability of such vociferztion during school hours every one with C 4 4'1 6,4.'.63t.t o M V. -be -L AL.Y O d the exception of Rose joined in the chorus. Presently Edith entered, having returned from the disprtch she hrd emb-rked upon, bearing a lrrge pan which seemed slightly warm tc thc touchq, Curl proceeded to the removcl of the lid, and Birdcen prepared to assist Ellen in the application of the cold water. When the lid was lifted, there arose from the depths a cloud of steam, and Norma vouchsofed the information that Mr. Schnrbach had said that it was the cooking girls' chili, and had better be returned. Edith, totally despairing, turned her burden over to Howard and Glen, who ftcr much delib rrtion started for the other building. From the quiet realms of thc study hall, Bill, Chrrlic, and Floyd descended on their classmrteb explaining to the questions of Jim their inabil- ity to study in the mid t of such an uproar. lla, coming up from hor class dem ndod an explanation, and receiving none sat down on the top step nd bcg n going over letter lrtoly received, only to be inter- rupted by Anna, who volunteered full explanation, only sho didn't know what h d hcpnened. WNhat's going on here? Now, get to your classes.n TPwrehpon, the landing became vastnt, and the seniors sadly departed followed by Rose, who h ving been rid of the weight of Kenneth, arose and slowly walked CWCLY o 9 755 lb .
