SEVHUR 8-NSTUR9 In the fall of 1936 the assembled from several schools, eager t our stream that in four years time would make another beautiful river for mother nature to be proud of For our first year, we chose Miss Maxwell to direct the course would follow. To help her we elected Jim Irvin, president, and Norms Simpson, vice president, and at the mid year elections, Rose Ddvin was elected president, and Bill Gordy, vice president. In the fall of 1937 we had grown into a much larger and stronger stream. We really showed the freshmen how we were treated when we were freshmen. This year Mr. MoProud helped us by steering us in the same course, making a larger gorge for us to follow. For our officers we elected George Kirkland, president, and Lucille Capps, vice president. For the second semester, Marjorie Burman was president and Carl Blick, vice president. Nhcn we returned for our Junior year Mr Hunt took charge of us, and well we needed his help, for we cou1dn't seem to keep in the right channel. Dyer Pettijohn was president for the first semester, with Edith McClintick taking over the second semester. In October we spon- sored our first dence--a masquerade dance, which proved to bc e great success. In April we were hosts to the seniors at the junior-senior banquet and prom. At last we were the beautiful river wc had been trying to mnko for three years. We had at lsst rcachad that one goal in life. Mr. Palmer took over our guidance this yoer. At our class elections, Con- rad Brdndru was elected president, and Glen Hoagland was elected to 0 find out about the pranks played in high school. In joining we started . ' we take his place at the beginning of the second semester. It wcs a busy spring, but we wont along at top speed. we sponsored a spring dance, and the juniors grve us n banquet :nd prom on April 19. Then we took Q dey off rnd went to Twin Falls. It was whrt we called the senior sneak. Then came one of the great days. May 12, our baccalaureate. On Wednes- day, May 15, the dey for which we had been working for four years had arrived--the dry on which the diplomas were given out. we hive at last reached onc of the great turning points in our 111708 e ' Class of '40
