QHUUQLSTQFF E aa In the late fall the editor, Norma Simpson, and assistant, Rose Divin, were notified of their positions and responsibility The biggest problem was to find a theme on which to base the annual. With a lot of buzzing and head work it was decided to base it on nature, and to have deer represent each class, beginning with a fawn and each year add ing one more antler--as in education we grow more intelligent and more able to face the problems of life. With the help of the faculty members the following were choosen to help make this year book a success: Eleanor Graves, advertising managerg Martha Belle Fease, assistant advertising managerg Jack Grant, joke editor, George Kirkland and Edith McClintick, senior editorsg Axel Kannegaard, junior edit org Margaret Blanksma, sophomore editor, Maizic McC1aran, freshmen editor, Barbara Swainston and Marjorie Burman, stencil typistsg Fern Chase and Ev olyn Kicster, picture print reg Luana Reinckc and Louella Harris, picture cuttorsg Carl Blick, boys' sports editor, Gladys Albin, girls' sports edit org Ilene Brunzell, subscription manager, Margaret Jennings, music reporter, Anna Kannegaard, mimeoseopistg Margaret Westbrook, literary editorg Bill Gordy, mimeographist, and Imogeane Rugglcs, art editor. COUNCIL, FIRST SEMESTER In September this body of officers, composing the student council, de- cided to install, as their chief work of the year, a new point system which would be satisfactory to the majority of the students. ' After trying out one, and inquiring into several others, the system used by the Nampa Junior High was finally adopted. This system permits unlimited self-government in direct proportion to the quality of leadership as demonstrated by the student council officers. Another outstanding feature of this point system is that it permits the student to earn his award in that phase of education in which he is most in- terested. ' We started it, you in the future can develop it. Members of the council for the first semester wer Cbackrowlz Mr. Hunt, advisor, Carl Barr, junior councilman, George Kirkland, councilman-at- large, Dyer Pettijohn, presidentg Fred Johnson, councilman-at-large, and Jim Irvin, treasurer. Front row: Martha Belle Fease, senior councilman and vice president, Maurice Horn, yell leader, Eleanor Graves, yell leaderg Ray Simpson, freshi man councilman, Peggy Westbrook, advertising manager, and Glondon Clark, sophomore councilman. ' ' Other officers not in the picture were Earl Cum ings, secretary, who was elected to take the place of Teresa Gorostiza, who dropped school. 1
