Wdalafzq It was a sweltenng day rn August 1950 that a hardy group of people mrgrated from the plalns of elementary school to enter M819 County Hrgh School It ts beheved that they came Ln search of the mtellectual food that myths had sald mlght be growmg there When we entered thrs house of knowledge the class numbered mnety three The government of the Freshman seemed to be a modrfled form of mbal orgamzauon Wllh a brg clnef called the presrdent presiding over us The cluef was Dean McKenz1e Before our Freshman year was over much to our sorrow twenty seven had departed from us for various reasons leavmg only frfty sxx to clxmb the mountamslde to accomplrsh our goals In August 1951 the class moved up the mountamsrde presumably to frnd forage for our mmds and set up a government on the Sophomore Range Here the Freshman chief was supplanted by Donald Thompson who led the mbe to new herghts of conquest Thxs trrbe numbered frfty snr In the thud stage of our civ111.zat1on we took up nver navrgation and spent most of out tlme m houseboats plymg up and down Junxor River The most brrlllant navrgator of them all was Donald Thompson and the tube elevated h1m to the posrtlon of most hrgh rlver rat. Under hrs leadership the group flourlshed and replemshed our larders enough to stage the Junror Senior Banquet Th1s banquet rt IS sald was the most lavlsh of all feasts ever grven It was at the beglnnmg of our Iumor year that Mrs J D Culvahouse Jomed the faculty as the Commerclal teacher and Mr Owen Roberts as Englxsh teacher We heartrly welcomed B1l11e Sanders to our tnbe to rncrease our number to forty two that were brave enough to push onward Durmg these three dynasties we were strrvmg to reach the pleateau of Senlor land The setuors of past eras had become a hxghly crvll tzed tube but our group were stnvrng to excel others and rn thrs we have accomplrshed our task Our orators were second only to those whose vorces floated out to the people at the Roman Forums It was rn the early stage of our c1v1l1zat1on that a great plague swept over the lI1bE n s 1 - - r v - . 1 U - ' - a v 1 s . .
